At St. Innocent Orthodox Church, one of our core missions is to "love and care for one another and for those in our wider community." In line with this mission, we established the St. Olga Society to serve our community.
This ministry operates through three main branches: Incense and Intercession Team, Cards and Calls, and Loaves and Fishes.
The Incense and Intercession Team consists of individuals who pray for community members who have requested additional prayers. Prayer requests can be submitted in several ways, including: through the Prayer Requests chat in Realm, by writing names on a card and placing them in the prayer box located in the parish hall.
Loaves and Fishes provides meals to families in need. This group prepares meals monthly to be readily available for families during times of need. The group leader reaches out to confirm whether meals are needed and to inquire about any dietary restrictions within the household. Meal trains can also be organized and communicated to the group leader.
Cards and Calls extend the support of both service areas. When we learn of a prayer request or a family receiving a meal, a parishioner will reach out to check in, see if additional assistance is needed, or simply to let them know we are thinking of them.
